Good Morning .. Pause
I welcome you in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Our Call to Worship ( From the Psalms)

Psalm 118:5-9 “Out of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free. The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? The Lord is on my side as my helper; I shall look in triumph on those who hate me. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes.”
Let us Pray

God Call Us into His Presence for His Worship to Bless Us.

INVOCATION:

Father we now call upon you to be with us and be in our presence.
And illuminate our minds by your Spirit and Word.
We thank you Father in all things in Christ name Amen.

God's Greeting (From the New Testament)

Hebrews 11:1-3 11 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the people of old received their commendation. By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.

*LET US PRAY

Prayer of Confession and Repentance

O most great, most just and gracious God,
You are the Holy One of love—the God of unbroken promises.
Throughout the Old Testament you promised to send the Messiah,
and in the New Testament the records have been made that he came,
that he died, and that he arose from the dead;
but now in language more clearly you have promised to send Him back to this world for His universal triumph.
That last long look of the apostles on the Mount of Olives was met by the assurance that He would come again and in like manner.
We confess that we were conceived in sin,
and are by nature children of wrath;
and have all sinned and come short of the glory of God.
In our baptism you took us into the bond of the holy covenant,
but we did not remember our Creator in the days of our youth,
with the fear, and love, and obedience which we owed you.
We did not please and glorify you in all things, nor walk with you by faith in a heavenly conversation,
nor serve you fervently with all our might;
instead we fulfilled the desires of the flesh and of the carnal mind.
We have neglected and abused your holy worship,
your holy name, and your holy day.
We have dishonoured our superiors, and neglected our inferiors.
We have dealt unjustly and uncharitably with our neighbours, not loving them as ourselves,
nor doing to others as we would have them do to us;
we have not sought first your kingdom and righteousness and been content with our daily bread,
but have been careful and troubled about many things, neglecting the one thing necessary.
You have revealed your wonderful love to us in Christ,
and offered us pardon and salvation in him.
But we made light of it, and neglected so great a salvation,
and resisted your Spirit, Word and ministers,
and have not turned at your reproof.
We have run into temptations, and the sin which we should have hated,
we have committed in your sight, both secretly and openly,
ignorantly and carelessly, rashly and presumptuously,
against your precepts, your promises, and threats, your mercies and your judgments.
Our transgressions are multiplied before you, and our sins testify against us;
if you deal with us as we deserve, you will cast us away from your presence into hell,
where the worm never dies, and the fire is not quenched.
But in your mercy, your Son, and your promises is our hope.
Have mercy upon us, most merciful Father. Be reconciled to us, and let the blood of Jesus Christ cleanse us from all our sins.
Take us for your children, and give us the Spirit of your Son.
Sanctify us wholly, shed abroad your love in our hearts and cause us to love you with all our hearts.
Make your face to shine upon your servants;
save us from our sins, and from the wrath to come.
Make us a peculiar people to you, zealous of good works, so that we may please you,
and show forth your praise.
Help us to redeem the time, and give all diligence to make our calling and election sure.
Give us the things necessary for your service, and keep us from sinful discontent and cares.
let us consider what manner of persons we ought to be,
in all holy conversation and godliness.
Help us to watch against temptations, and resist and overcome the flesh, the devil, and the world.
And being delivered out of the hand of all our enemies, let us serve you without fear, in holiness and righteousness before you all the days of our life.
Guide us by your counsel, and afterward receive us into your glory, through Jesus Christ our only Saviour.
Amen.

Please be Seated........

We Hear God's Law and Confess Our Sins to Him

Romans 13 13 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer. Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God’s wrath but also for the sake of conscience. For because of this you also pay taxes, for the authorities are ministers of God, attending to this very thing. Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.
Fulfilling the Law Through Love
Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 10 Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
11 Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed. 12 The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light. 13 Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy. 14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.

Confession of Sin: (WLC 149 & 152) pg. 959-960

Question 149
Is any man able perfectly to keep the commandments of God?
No man is able, either of himself, or by any grace received in this life, perfectly to keep the commandments of God;) but doth daily break them in thought, word, and deed.
Question 152
What doth every sin deserve at the hands of God?
Every sin, even the least, being against the sovereignty, goodness, and holiness of God, and against his righteous law, deserveth his wrath and curse, both in this life, and that which is to come; and cannot be expiated but by the blood of Christ.

Assurance of Pardon

Assurance of Pardon…1 Peter 2:9-10 “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.”

Congregational Prayer

We make our prayers to you, O Lord God, most merciful Father,
for all people in general, that you will be known to be the Savior of all the world
by the redemption purchased by your only Son Jesus Christ;
for they have been held captive in darkness and ignorance for lack of the knowledge of the gospel.
We pray that through the preaching, and the clear light of your Holy Spirit,
That those who do not know you be brought into the right way of salvation, which is to know that you are only God,
and that he, who you have sent, is Jesus Christ.
Likewise, we pray that they whom you have already endued with your grace,
and illuminated their hearts with the knowledge of your Word,
may continually increase in godliness, and be plenteously enriched with spiritual benefits;
so that we may altogether worship you, both with heart and mouth,
and render due honor and service unto Christ our Master, King, and Lawmaker
Father we Pray for _____________ and we ask for all these things in the powerful, glorious, majestic, and wonderful name of Jesus Christ Amen.

Sermon………………………………….... How Jesus Instructs You to Pray
Sermon Text………………...…………….……………. Matthew 6:1-15 NKJV
I will be reading from the NKJV for this passage because the translators who use the NA28 Greek Text from which the translators of the ESV used felt compelled not to add it because the phrase “For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.” is not found in every early manuscript. the NKJV uses the Textus Reseptus which still has the phrase “For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.”
Although it is not in every manuscript this phrase rings true throughout the rest of the Scriptures and seems fitting to read with the Lords Prayer.
HEAR Now the Very Word of God
*Turn in your Bible to Matthew 6:1-15 NKJV repeat Matthew 6:1-15

“Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven.

2 Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.

3 But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,

4 that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.

5 “And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.

6 But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.

7 And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.

8 “Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.

9 In this manner, therefore, pray:

Our Father in heaven,

Hallowed be Your name.

10 Your kingdom come.

Your will be done

On earth as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts,

As we forgive our debtors.

13 And do not lead us into temptation,

But deliver us from the evil one.

For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

14 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Isaiah 40:8 The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.
*Brief Prayer of Illumination -LET US PRAY
Father in heaven give us your people ears to hear what your Word and Spirit would have us to learn in Christ name Amen
I can think of no better place to learn How Jesus Instructs You to Pray than Matthew 6 is our Lord teaching his disciples how to pray.
And if you have faith in him then you are his disciple, and should pray as he has instructed you.

How Jesus Instructs You to Pray

I will be using and illustration from an anonymous author who penned a reflection on the Lords Prayer this morning which I believe will help us to reflect, and apply the Lords Prayer to our lives.
When we as Christians pray to God we cannot pray this prayer if we live in opposition to it in our everyday lives.
ILLUSTRATION
I cannot say “our” if I live only for myself.
I cannot say “Father” if I do not endeavor each day to act like his child.
I cannot say “who art in heaven” if I am laying up no treasure there.
I cannot say “hallowed be thy name” if I am not striving for holiness.
I cannot say “thy Kingdom come” if I am not doing all in my power to hasten that wonderful event.
I cannot say “thy will be done” if I am disobedient to his Word.
I cannot say “on earth as it is in heaven” if I’ll not serve him here and now.
I cannot say “give us this day our daily bread” if I am dishonest or am seeking things by subterfuge.
I cannot say “forgive us our debts” if I harbor a grudge against anyone.
I cannot say “lead us not into temptation” if I deliberately place myself in its path.
I cannot say “deliver us from evil” if I do not put on the whole armor of God.
I cannot say “yours is the kingdom” if I do not give the King the loyalty due him from a faithful subject.
I cannot attribute to him “the power” if I fear what men may do.
I cannot ascribe to him “the glory” if I’m seeking honor only for myself,
And I cannot say “forever” if the horizon of my life is bounded completely by time.
So first people of God
Vs 1-6 (1) Let us not give to the Lords work or pray to to be seen by others. ......REPEAT
that is what verses 2 and 5 remind us of.
Matt 6:2 ““Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.”
Matthew 6:5 (ESV) And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.
Do you only give to others when someone is watching.
‘Do you like to sound the trumpet when you do help someone out?
Do you only pray to God when your at church.
Do you only pray to God when you are at the mid week prayer meeting.
Although praying at Church and praying at the midweek prayer meeting are good things.
If this describes you check you motives for praying.
Are you praying to be seen by others or are you praying because you truly seek to communicate with our Lord.
Our hearts desire and our motive should be to communicate with our Father.
Not for the praise of men. John 12:43 TELLS US - for they loved the glory that comes from man more than the glory that comes from God.
Isn't this our temptation to pray to be seen by others.
Or maybe your on the opposite side of the spectrum and you have found yourself ashamed to pray in public worried what people might think.
Whether it be at work.
At the park.
Or among your unbelieving relatives.
Or your unbelieving friends.
And yet this is the time that God has given us as his disciples to be a witness for him to a dying and unbelieving world with our public prayers.
A famous Atheist Penn Jillette said - how much do you have to hate somebody and not proselytize them. Or think that people are going to hell and not tell someone about Christ who can forgive sins.
So let us use our Prayers to the Father to glorify Him and witness to our unbelieving friends.
and relatives and the strangers that are in the public places where we pray.
Another question we should ask ourselves is
4. When are times that we seem to pray to God Naturally
when we are sick - seems to be when most people understand their humanity and their frailness.
when we have a true need such as a shortage of money or some resource.
These are good things to pray for but let us expand our vision and prayers to
Not only to pray for resources but to pray for the expansion of Christ Kingdom here on earth.
When we desire to see the kingdom to be expanded and more people brought into the flock of God.
This is a great prayer
Thy Kingdom come Thy Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
The key to this is pray to God for things that are according to his will
Matt 5:6 tells us “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.”
Lets hunger and thirst for righteousness.
Let us hold the things of God up with our prayers.
The next thing we can learn from our text is

vs. 6-7 (2) Let us pray to our Father in Secret and Not with empty Phrases. .... REPEAT

Matthew 6:6-7 (ESV) But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words.
So we should pray in private unless its corporate or family worship.
The goal is communication with God our Father and no one else around us.
So what rule has God given for our direction in prayer >
The WSC tells us in question 99 “The whole Word of God is of use to direct us in prayer; (1 John 5:14) but the special rule of direction is that form of prayer which Christ taught his disciples, commonly called The Lord’ s prayer. (Matt. 6:9–13, Luke 11:2–4)
so you might say I don’t know what to say to God.
Read his Word because the who;e Bible has been given to you to help you find the words to pray to your Heavenly Father.
Let us explore what prayer is a little more since we have not only the Lords Prayer but the entire Word of God to direct us in it.
PRAYER—is a conversation with God; the intercourse of the soul with God,
not in contemplation or meditation, but in direct address to him.
Prayer may be oral or mental, occasional or constant,
You may blurt it out, or it may be formal.
It is a “beseeching the Lord” (Ex. 32:11); “
pouring out the soul before the Lord” (1 Sam. 1:15); “
praying and crying to heaven” (2 Chr. 32:20); “
seeking unto God and making supplication” (Job 8:5); “
drawing near to God” (Ps. 73:28); “
bowing the knees” (Eph. 3:14).
Prayer presupposes a belief in the personality of God, his ability and willingness to have communication with us, his personal control of all things and of all his creatures and all their actions.
Acceptable prayer must be sincere (Heb. 10:22),
offered with reverence and godly fear,
with a humble sense of our own insignificance as creatures and of our own unworthiness as sinners,
with earnest pestering, and with unhesitating submission to the divine will.
Prayer must also be offered in the faith that God is, and is the hearer and answerer of prayer, and that he will fulfil his word,
“Ask, and ye shall receive” (Matt. 7:7, 8; 21:22; Mark 11:24; John 14:13, 14), and in the name of Christ (16:23, 24; 15:16; Eph. 2:18; 5:20; Col. 3:17; 1 Pet. 2:5).
So remember to pray to your Father in Secret and be direct and honest in your communication with him.
The next thing we can learn from our text is found in

Vs 8. 3) Matthew 6:8 (ESV) Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him .....REPEAT

God is sovereign and knows your needs BEFORE you ask him.
So then you might ask, why do I need to ask for things that God already knows I need?
Its a good question that God answers.
And many a christian and non christian have asked this question.
Because prayer is one of the outward ordinary means whereby Christ communicates to us the benefits of Christ.
We are told this in the WLC Question 154.

Question 154

What are the outward means whereby Christ communicates to us the benefits of his mediation?

The outward and ordinary means whereby Christ communicates to his church the benefits of his mediation, are all his ordinances; especially the word, sacraments, and prayer; all which are made effectual to the elect for their salvation. (Matt. 28:19–20, Acts 2:42,46–47)

So Prayer helps the elect come to Christ
Prayer helps in our Salvation
Prayer is an important outward means whereby Christ communicates to us the benefits of his mediation.
So we should pray as Christ calls us to and demonstrates to us how to pray.
This is why Jesus Instructs you to Pray
The next thing we can learn from our text is
(4) Let us recognize God as our Father and Lord...... REPEAT
Matthew 6:9 (ESV) — 9 Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.
Do you pray to you father?
If he is your father you ought to pray to him.
And he can only be your father if you believe on the name of Jesus Christ. our only mediator between God and man.
This was what Peter did when he recognized who Christ was in Matt 16:17.
Matthew 16:17 (ESV) — 17 And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.
So if you are in Christ pray to you Father in heaven because you have a mediator Christ Jesus who enables our prayers to be heard.
Now I have to point out that this prayer to the Father cannot be done by everyone.
We are reminded of this in Matthew 7:21 (ESV) — 21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
We are told that these hypocrites that pray to God for the approval of men
The Father does not hear them because they are not his.
These are identified in our passage as those who are Jews praying in Synagogues.
and Gentiles who pray with lots of words for show.
Brothers and Sisters do not deceive yourself that your prayers will be heard if you don’t believe and trust in Christ for Salvation.
It is not your membership in the church that saves you.
It is not your saying of a prayer that saves you.
It is not the family you are apart of on earth that saves you.
It is Christ alone through Faith alone that saves you.
It is only the finished work of Christ in his life.
‘And his Finished work on the Cross that pays for sin.
Only Faith in the Work of Christ can enable you to have communion with God.
So only those who are trusting in Christ can honestly pray to God as their Father.
The next thing we can learn from our text is

vs 10-11 (5) Let us desire God’s perfect will to be done and ask for physical provision........ REPEAT

Matthew 6:10 (ESV) — 10 Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread,
1. Examples of this in History of Gods will being done.
Abraham’s servant prayed to God, and God directed him to the person who should be the wife to his master’s son and heir (Gen. 24:10–20).
Jacob prayed to God, and God inclined the heart of his irritated brother, so that they met in peace and friendship (Gen. 32:24–30; 33:1–4).
David prayed, and God defeated the counsel of Ahithophel (2 Sam. 15:31; 16:20–23; 17:14–23).
Physical Provision
Samson prayed to God, and God showed him a well where he quenched his burning thirst, and so lived to judge Israel (Judg. 15:18–20).
If our son asks for bread Matthew 7:9–11 (ESV) — 9 Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? 11 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
Let us pray with the knowledge of Gods Word and understanding of what he desires for our lives.
Some of those things from his Word are
Christ desires young men to find wives.
Christ desires families to come together and worship him
Christ desires you to work hard at your job for his glory.
Christ desires you to manage your money with him in mind.
Christ desires you to give to his work for the kingdom.
Christ desires you to commune with him every Lords Day when he is among us and preached.
The Last thing we find in Verses 12-15
Vs 12-15 (6) Let us ask for forgiveness and forgive others and for spiritual protection.

Matthew 6:12-15 (ESV) — 12 and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. 14 For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, 15 but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Matthew 18 is a story to help you keep in mind why its so important for you to forgive OTHERS of their trespasses
TRY TO TELL THIS STORY WITHOUT READING IT.
Matthew 18:23–35 (ESV) — 23 “Therefore the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished to settle accounts with his servants. 24 When he began to settle, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents. 25 And since he could not pay, his master ordered him to be sold, with his wife and children and all that he had, and payment to be made. 26 So the servant fell on his knees, imploring him, ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you everything.’ 27 And out of pity for him, the master of that servant released him and forgave him the debt. 28 But when that same servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii, and seizing him, he began to choke him, saying, ‘Pay what you owe.’ 29 So his fellow servant fell down and pleaded with him, ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you.’ 30 He refused and went and put him in prison until he should pay the debt. 31 When his fellow servants saw what had taken place, they were greatly distressed, and they went and reported to their master all that had taken place. 32 Then his master summoned him and said to him, ‘You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you pleaded with me. 33 And should not you have had mercy on your fellow servant, as I had mercy on you?’ 34 And in anger his master delivered him to the jailers, until he should pay all his debt. 35 So also my heavenly Father will do to every one of you, if you do not forgive your brother from your heart.”
We must live a life of forgiveness. We must forgive others when they sin against us.
We are commanded to forgive others by our Lord Jesus
Christ died to forgive you of your sins.
Christ as always sets the standard and fulfills the standard.
But he also enables you by his spirt to do the standard More and more throughout your walk with him.
Luke 23:34 (ESV) — 34 And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” And they cast lots to divide his garments.
Colossians 3:13 (ESV) — 13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
1 John 1:9 (ESV) — 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
We must forgive others because its what our Lord does for us.
And because we are warned if we don’t forgive others our father in heaven will not forgive us.
If we are unforgiving this may be speaking to whether Christ has given you a new spirit.
Christ promised this to all his elect in Ezekiel 36:26
Ezekiel 36:26 And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
So check yourself and make sure that you are in Christ
And you do have a forgiving spirit that Christ promises us.
Christ finished work secures one’s salvation for all time.
there is nothing you can do to add to his work.
Rather the only thing we must do is obey as grateful servants
and continually turn to Christ
look to Christ
The author and finisher of your faith.
And what do grateful servants do who have been relieved of such a great debt.
remember the parable
We forgive like the Father Forgives us because of the Sons work.
We must not be like the other servant who demanded all that was owed be paid
and then throw our neighbor into jail.
So we are going to end where we began with an illustration.
Closing Illustration
So if you are in Christ keep these things in mind
I can say “Our” because I live only for Christ.
I can say “Father” if I do endeavor each day to act like his child.
I can say “who art in heaven” if I am laying up treasure there.
I can say “hallowed be thy name” if I am striving for holiness.
I can say “thy Kingdom come” if I am doing all in my power to hasten that wonderful event.
I can say “thy will be done” if I am obedient to his Word.
I can say “on earth as it is in heaven” if I’ll serve him here and now.
I can say “give us this day our daily breadif I am seeking things by honest work and prayer.
I can say “forgive us our debts” if I am not harboring a grudge against anyone.
I can say “lead us not into temptation” if I deliberately set out of temptations path.
I can say “deliver us from evil” if I do put on the whole armor of God.
I can say “thine is the kingdom” if I do give the King the loyalty due him from a faithful subject.
I can attribute to him “the power” if I don’t fear what men may do.
I can ascribe to him “the glory” if I’m seeking his honor.
I can say “forever” if the horizon of my life is bound up completely in Christ alone through Faith alone.
‘Always looking to that finished work of Christ which intitles us to be Sons and Daughters of the King of kings and Lord of Lords.
AMEN
Let us pray
· Father, we thank you for Christ who has taught us how to pray to our Father in Heaven. Father we thank you for Christ who makes continual intercession for us with you. Lord help us and enable us to continually remember your sacrifice on the cross and turn to you Jesus who is the only mediator between God and man. And this I pray: that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is superior, in order that you may be sincere and blameless in the day of Christ, having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ to the glory and praise of God. Amen.
